Mimi M asked:

I’m a citizen who was raised in Minnesota since 1992, I’m a haitian american, my desire for a years have been to start my hair braiding business. I have done a lot of research and have stumble upon the Marquette Breslin hair system. I applied for a grant in hopes to go to a cosmetology school but have been denied because I made too much money last year. However, I been demoted this year and I’m having a baby in December I was told to reapply again after taxes and I should be under the guide line. My question is this I saw a video from MN Deed trying to attract big companies to start their business in Minnesota and even said Minnesota help the little guy ( small business) if this is all true then why will no one invest in me I need very little money even though I can’t afford it right now and all I need is someone to invest in me so I can get Bresling braiding system and the Lace wig system and the tools so I can at least practice until January 2009 comes? Don’t I deserve a chance so I can make a better life for my child. I would like to own my hair braiding salon in Bemidji, MN

I need to do this because I fear I will loose my job at the casino and now a little one will be depending on me soon however I know I can’t succeed their because I’m not a Leech Laker and I knew that before I was hired so therefore I’m limited there and I need to get on track now no matter how bad the situation looks. I need to become a hairstylist/ braid stylist and as a braider I don’t need a license so I thought I start with that first until I reapply for the grant and hopefully they will grant the money I need for school if not at least I could be already making money braiding hair please do not be judgemental I just need answers that will work
