I love the original Connery Bond. watched the Saint as Bond Roger Moore as Bond,Sat thru Dalton as Bond, Even like Brosnan as Remming Steele..er Bond. Each kept a lighter air with Bond
For all who have an opinion, we all have our likes and dislikes. This film, in my opinion, is anti Bond formula. Bond , over the years, has been a superhero without a cape. A light action film peppered with throw away one liners and non bloody action.Yes, the villians are cardboard cutouts…with names like Jaws and Oddjob. Joke (like from Diamonds are forever) My name is Plenty..and Bond reply “Of course you are” are standard.
This film broke the BOND formula, I did not conside it as a BOND film..it is too violent and disjointed for my tastes. Some many say it works better, I say it doesn’t.
Craig’s Bond is heavy on violence and action with limited gimmicks you would expect in a 007 film. The story is a prequal of how Bond became Bond.
This is a trumpth of those fan’s of the Flemming works. It kept the updating lessen and akin to the Flemming story. ..and not to Bond Formula
I don’t know if it was the film’s dark hues that turned me off..or just Craig’s mummblings
