Let’s say he/she starts with only 20 bucks
When I say decent, I mean:
(1) knows which casino to go to (researching casino’s rules, i.e. soft17, etc)
(2) knows what table to walk up to and when
(3) bets conservatively (puts down the minimum very often, say 5 bucks per play)
(4) knows the rules of the book and when to hit, play, double down.
(5) not take excessive risks (i.e. hitting on a 16, etc.) and always taking into mind what the dealer has
(6) minimal cardcounting (like just keeping track of facecards or ranges of cards rather than every single damn card) Please don’t call me a cheater. I just want to be a “conscious” blackjack player and know the tools of the trade so I can avoid getting hosed.
(7) not tipping the dealer ever. Hey it’s not my fault they consolidated their fate as a card dealer. The casino should boost their pay if they are good. It shouldn’t have to come out of my wallet. Why tip them. Its not a service. It’s a game.
Anyone else got any tips. I want to win a hundred bucks everyweek for some extra money. The economy is sh*tty and I want to get some extra money to feed my family and for gas.
The reason why I ask this question is because I walked into the casino for my first time, played blackjack and won a hundred bucks by part skill and luck. But I am not very skilled to begin with. How can I utilize that skill to take advantage of the dealer (in the nicest way possible?)
airjarro… you can always look to see if the table is winning or not by looking to see how chips the dealer has in front of him/her. This is usually a bad sign. It is always good if the players are winning at a table as long as they aren’t newbies. I like to start at empty tables.
and of course the counting will only be on tables with a fresh shuffle
