You will need to set your PS3 to output the audio via the optical cable. Most home theater in a box only have one optical audio input if provided. What I would recommen is set your PS3 to output via the HDMI cable and then connect it to the tv, then connect an optical audio cable from the tv to your home theater in a box. This will also provide you sound for the tv program, keep in mind that only those tv program with the Dolby Digital Logo will have surround sound information. Hope this will help you out.

I don't think you cable is really the issue, i think its the PS3. Try to go to settings on the system and play with it. If not go back to where you got it from and ask the whats the problem with it. If you bought it just recently, they'd have to fix it for free. If that still didnt work just get a new cable.

You should definitely go to Caesars Palace if you like shopping. There's a HUGE mall in there with cloud ceilings that change from day to night...

Also go to the MGM Grand for a meal in the Rainforest Cafe, it's lovely in there and very nice food too.

A helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon is a must - you might even see some bears that way too...

Have fun, Vegas is great!

One night go to the Ghost Bar at the Palms. It is a wonderful club with a breath taking view of Vegas. Mind you, the Stratosphere also has a good view.

If you like Penn and Teller they are at the Rio, although that hotel is a dump IMHO.

The Wynn is nice, they are close to the Bellagio. Caesars Palace has some great shops full of things you can't afford!

Star Trek experience is neat at the Hilton.

I know some people have recommended the Luxor, but I thought it was shite. MGM Grand is quite nice if you want to see the biggest hotel EVER!

Avoid the pirate show at TI, it's crap.

Skip Grand Canyon. Go to Red Rock Canyon, or Valley of the Fire instead. They're completely other-worldly, like Martian landscape. These two destinations are much closer, 20+ or 50+ miles from to LV.

Have fun.
